HAF Easter Activities

Wild About the Country

A day of fun  practical activities around  growing, cooking, nature and crafts

Monday 25th March and Wednesday 3rd April

Join us for

a day of fun practical activities focused on growing, cooking, nature and crafts

On arrival the young people will gather firewood and light a fire.

We will all prepare and cook griddle ‘welsh ‘ cakes and brew up a delicious hot drink. This will then be followed by a walk around the site, looking and listening to signs of Spring. During the walk we will gather materials and then decamp to the Arts studio area to make nature based craft items. Everyone will then be involved in helping make pizzas for lunch, including rolling out the dough and selecting vegetable toppings and salad ingredients from our polytunnel and greenhouse.

After lunch everyone will be continuing with Arts and crafts activities and taking part in an energetic wide game.

We are planning to hold most of the sessions outdoors though we have indoor space if weather is particularly bad.

Please ensure your young person wears suitable warm, preferably waterproof , clothes including footwear.

We will be hosting two sessions during Easter. One on Monday 25th March and the other on Wednesday 3rd April. Both will be 10am-2pm for 8-12yrs.

All reservations need to be made through the HAF website here, but you can email us with any questions you have via
Food Provision

We provide everyone with a range of healthy snacks throughout the day and a cooked meal at lunchtime which they can help prepare. All our food is vegetarian or vegan. Hot and cold Drinks are available throughout the day and are either fruit or plant based. Water is ‘on tap’.

Please fill in the food information on the HAF booking site here and make us aware if your child has any allergies or special dietary requirements. We are happy to cater for vegans and Gluten free.

We appreciate that some people can be picky eaters and will do our best to serve food that your child will enjoy!

Information about accessibility for SEND families

We welcome all to Wild Acres. Our staff leaders have training in working with Children with a range of needs. The site is unfortunately not fully accessible for all children with mobility issues. There are some areas of soft, uneven and steep ground. We welcome prior visits to check and will do our best meet any requirements.

Please refer to our ‘All about us’ found at the top of the page which includes some more information you may want to know.

We also encourage parents to fill out the ‘All About Me’ form for the child/young person who intends to attend the activity so we can ensure all their needs are met on the day. If you require any further information please do get in touch with us directly.
