Know Your Patch at Wild Acres

May Event Summary Hosted at Wild Acres by GL11

In May, Wild Acres hosted a vibrant edition of the Know Your Patch series, organized by GL11, a local community organization committed to fostering thriving communities across Gloucestershire. This initiative connects voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VSCE) with statutory organizations, creating effective partnerships that enhance community well-being.

The event brought together individuals from various organizations within the Stroud District, providing a unique opportunity for networking amidst the beautiful outdoor surroundings of Wild Acres. Participants engaged in mindful photography with Steve and foraging with Rob Gould, enriching their connections while exploring nature and learning new skills.

Audrey Harris, Head of Community Relationships at GL11, expressed her gratitude for the collaborative spirit that filled the day: “It was an absolutely awesome morning of making connections and linking up the district.”

Attendees shared their experiences, highlighting the educational value of the event and the importance of being outdoors.

Let’s continue to support each other in making Gloucestershire a wonderful place to live and thrive.

Know Your Patch aims to empower communities by connecting local people with resources and support that enable them to live well and worry less. Funded by Gloucestershire County Council, this initiative consists of six networks across the region, with Stroud’s network hosted by GL11. These networks meet quarterly to share knowledge and strengthen relationships among organizations.

If you’re interested in joining the Stroud Network, please contact Audrey Harris at audreyharris@gl11.org.uk. The next meeting is scheduled for October 25, 2024, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM (TBC). Join us in building a stronger, more connected community!
